Earth to Liz and Luis...

Yeah, I know, we're awful people. We haven't posted anything new in a while, though I don't know if we even have any regular readers who'd be upset/disappointed... Things have just been so crazy lately, as they are wont to do...

About a month ago I started my new job at a big hedge fund. Not knowing anything at all about finance when I started certainly contributed to me being busy, since I've been working really hard to put myself up-to-speed with industry lingo, learn what everything means, try and be helpful around the office, etc. So far so good, I think, because I really feel that I've learned a lot, though I have so much more still to-be-learned.

My new job is great. First off (and this is huge for me), there is no dress-code! Yes, the days of corporate-casual attire (a.k.a. the yoke of my previous oppression, ;-)!) are long gone, and now my daily garb consists of shorts, a polo shirt (sometimes a t-shirt, if I'm feeling so-inclined) and either sandals or sneakers. My dressiest day so far was last week when we had our firm's summer party at the Boathouse in Central Park and I put on some jeans. Heck, I even wore regular-length socks! So yeah, no dress code = teh r0ckz0rz.

I'm also super-psyched because the firm is taking all of its employees to Atlantic City for an evening of fine food, drink and gambling! They're putting us up at the Borgata, that I've heard is a nice place, and rumor has it that they even give us $100 each to start off the night, though I certainly plan on ponying up some more money to hit the blackjack tables, hehe. As my pup told me a few days ago "Mama needs a new pair of shoes!". So on the night of September 9th keep me in your thoughts and pray that I come up a winner, for Liz's feet's sake!

Just to give you an update on her: she's crazy busy for about another month, with constant deadlines for Awards and such, so she probably won't have much time to post anything, either. I hope I can convince her to take a trip somewhere when her craziness is done, :-).

Before I go, I just wanted to share my lastest obsession: Old Grandma Hardcore. First off, for all you pervs out there, a few words: it's not what you think. It's a blog written by this guy whose grandmother is a hardcore videogamer. She's quite good, apparently, and also curses like a sailor! What I find super cool is that she loves Square-Enix games like Liz and I do, so I wonder if that's what we'll be like in our old age...but I digress. At any rate, scroll down to the bottom and start reading. It's not too long, since the blog is only about a month old. They also have some funny videos, listed on the right.

Ok campers, time for this kool kat to get back to work.

Luis

P.S.- also check out Stuff On My Cat! If we could get Fosse or Conan to sit still with stuff piled on them, I assure you we'd send in the pics, hehe!
